CSV Education for Citizenship works with schools, colleges, universities and communities throughout the UK enables young people to be active citizens through addressing real community needs 45,000 young people each year benefit from our programmes and support Our efforts promote:

> Skills for life, work and citizenship

Our activities include:

Award schemes
CSV has supported Citizenship in over 800 schools through the Barclays New Futures sponsorship

Peer education programmes
We train learners post-16 to offer mentoring support to their peers and university students to tutor primary school children in specialist skills

Citizenship Development Projects
CSV recruits employee volunteers as mentors in schools and community volunteers to support the development of active citizenship and community involvement by pupils.

Research and Evaluation
Recent published reports cover the benefits to learners of having a student tutor, the impact of active citizenship on pupils' attendance and motivation at school, and 'Citizenship in the Curriculum - One Year On'

Local Partnerships
We work with LEAs to set up local partnerships for the effective delivery of active citizenship
